A report from the Polis Administration is calling out large Colorado Hospitals contending they are keeping money from health care reforms that were meant to benefit patients.
The report from the Department of Health Care Policy and Financing claims hospitals are making massive profits in Colorado. In 2018, the report says hospital profits in Colorado hit $2 billion dollars. It also says hospital per patient profits rose from $538 to $1,518 between 2009 to 2018.
Lt Governor Dianne Primavera headlined a news conference to release the report. She says "This report shines a light on the fact hospitals are not passing along savings to Coloradans, but are instead making record profits on the backs of consumers."
