He played well. He helped lead his team to a win.

Brandon Allen had a good day for the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

In his first NFL start, Allen completed 12-of-20 passes for 193 yards and two touchdowns in the Broncos 24-19 win over the Cleveland Browns.

Allen connected with Courtland Sutton on a 21-yard touchdown pass to give the Broncos a 7-0 lead with 6:09 left in the first quarter.

Later, he found Noah Fant crossing from right to left on a 75-yard scoring pass and the Broncos' lead was 14-3 at the 12:34 mark of the second quarter.

Allen's success continued in the second half. He engineered a seven play, 95 yard touchdown drive that took 4:10 off the clock. Phillip Lindsay's 30-yard touchdown run capped the drive and gave the Broncos a 24-12 lead late in the third quarter.

The Broncos defense gave up one touchdown drive to the Browns all game, more often than not holding Cleveland to field goals and getting the ball back on downs by holding on two fourth-down situations.

It all added up to a good, solid win for the Broncos, who look to turn things around after suffering losses in the final 22 seconds of three games in the first half of the season.
