ADCO Clerk and Recorder Explains Ballot Error

Corrected ballots will be sent out this Friday to more than 17,000 Adams County voters who live in Aurora.

Ballots directed voters to cast one vote in the race for City Council at-Large. The ballots should have said vote for two.

Adams County Clerk and Recorder, Josh Zigelbaum, says the information his office originally received for the ballot was correct. But somewhere things got changed and on a second review the Aurora City Clerk signed off on the instructions.

Corrected ballots will now be sent to those Aurora voters. Voters who have yet to cast a ballot are urged to use the corrected version. People who already voted for just one can re-vote and pick two. If a voter caught the error and voted for two candidates, those votes will be counted.
