The Colorado Brewers Guild, the non-profit trade association that promotes and protects the Colorado craft brewing industry, announced today that Shawnee Adelson has been promoted to executive director.

Adelson joined the CBG in November 2015 as its membership coordinator. During her four years at the Guild, Adelson has grown the allied trade partner program and the membership base to its highest numbers in its nearly 25 year history. She has also been a part of the team to create educational programming including webinars and the Colorado Craft Brewers Summit.

“The future of the Colorado Brewers Guild is in great hands with Shawnee,” said Matt Cutter of Upslope Brewing and CBG board president. “Her experience and leadership is exactly what the Guild needs to continue its progress of legislative victories, educational programs, impactful events, and demonstration of value for members.”

Adelson will continue to work closely with Tristan Schmid, the CBG’s marketing and events manager, along with the organization’s board.

The CBG is currently looking towards the Great American Beer Festival (October 3-5), where it will host a membership meeting and where CBG staff and member brewers will serve beers from across Colorado in the guilds pavilion of the national Brewers Association’s annual event in Denver.

“For the past four years I’ve gotten to know the amazing people of the Colorado craft beer community. Through collaboration, creativity, dedication to craft, and a few beers, we are able to continue to position Colorado as the State of Craft Beer. I look forward to continuing the work on behalf of our members and supporters, and I know that my knowledge and experience will provide the necessary stability to the organization,” said Adelson.
