The physical issues for Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. continue.

Now he hopes that back surgery will get things fixed.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski first reported that Porter Jr. is set to have back surgery on Wednesday, December 1. According to Porter Jr.'s agents, it is not yet known what the timetable for recovery and return to play will be.

Wojnarowski reports Porter Jr. will be out indefinitely.

Porter Jr. had back surgery before the Nuggets selected him 14th overall in the 2018 draft. He sat out the 2018-19 season before beginning his NBA career in 2019. This procedure will be his third back surgery.

Porter Jr. played in nine games this season and was averaging 9.9 points and 6.6 rebounds. His last game action was November 6 against Houston.

Two weeks later, Mike Singer of the Denver Post reported that Porter Jr. was dealing with a nerve issue that could jeopardize his season.

The Nuggets are next in action tonight (November 29) when they start a seven-game road trip against the Miami Heat. The Nuggets have lost six consecutive games.
