CU Stifles Louisiana Tech, 59-48, In Women's Basketball

The Colorado women's basketball team likes the feel of being undefeated.

The Buffs got to 6-0 with a stifling 59-48 win over Louisiana Tech on Saturday in the first game of the Rocky Mountain Hoops Classic at the CU Events Center in Boulder.

Leading 13-11 after one quarter, the Buffs put the clamps on in the second, holding the Lady Techsters to five points and 1-11 shooting from the field en route to a 26-16 halftime lead.

Louisiana Tech got to within 39-35 after three quarters but again the Buffs defense rose up. The Lady Techsters were 0-5 from three-point range in the final period.

Peanut Tuitele led CU with 14 points. Mya Hollingshed added nine points and five assists.
